The highschool had different periods (1917-1918, 1918-1919) of interruptions in the teaching activity. But it offered its courses until 1 st of July 1938. After 11 years of non-activity, Pedagogical HighSchool started again its courses.
After the 2 nd World War in which many teachers had died, on the on the 1 st of September 1949 the Industrial HighSchool turned into Pedagogical HighSchool.
On the 1 st of June 1956 the last series of the Pedagogical HighSchool of boys from Ramnicu Valcea graduated. After 13 years of interruption, the pedagogical teaching system in Ramnicu Valcea was set up again as the Pedagogical HighSchool on the 1 st of September 1969.
Nowadays, after 1989 revolution, it is placed on Henri Coanda street , bearing the name of "Colegiul National de Informatica Matei Basarab" and being one of the most prestigious schools in Ramnicu Valcea.
